Periodically we will be posting information about our people to offer a more personalized experience for our customers. Today, we are starting at the top with the leader of Team Muscle….

Sharon Murphy-Dittrich

Sharon has been with Muscle Products Corp. since 1989. Her entry position evolved into executive management, and eventually, owner.

History & Experience

Born and raised in the Pittsburgh, Sharon and her family would spend most of their summers on a non-producing farm in London, Pennsylvania (a small community near Muscle’s current Jackson Center location). She fell in love with this area. In her thirties, she decided to move to the farm and commute to her job in Pittsburgh.

In 1989, Sharon and the owner's wife became acquainted. She suggested Sharon interview with the company for general office work. Sharon was hired, gave two week's notice at the Pittsburgh job, and started her new life chapter with Muscle in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Back then there were only a few additives on the market, only a few employees, and a handful of distributors in the USA. Over time, Muscle Products Corp. became internationally known, enlarged the distributors volume and moved to a much larger facility in Jackson Center, PA (its current location).

Sharon's role in the company has changed over time as well… from executive assistance, to executive management, and in 2001 she acquired ownership. Today, she is 100% owner and CEO of Muscle Products Corp. Management is her key active role, but she makes time to stay in touch with customers filling in as inside sales and support.

Sharon says, "The proudest moment in the company's history was when we moved to Jackson Center in 2005. We disassembled one plant and put it together in the new location. Surprisingly, we only broke one light bulb! Our customers orders were filled and shipped in time. We never skipped a beat. It was a tremendous effort by the entire team as we did the majority ourselves in a matter of months."

Sharon has been battling cancer since 2014. She says, "I am very thankful to be in remission."

Interests & Hobbies

When asked about her interests and hobbies, Sharon shares, "A very important part of my life involves horses. I try to ride horseback three times a week. Recently, I have begun voice and piano lessons. We also host a sanctuary kennel for dogs with unfortunate backgrounds."

Most Common Question About Muscle

Sharon says the most common question she is asked about the Muscle brand is, "Why haven't I heard about this product?" Sharon explains, "We do not spend thousands of dollars advertising nationally. We prefer our products be sold with the personal touch, so that we can service the client with the TLC we feel they deserve."
